The Adelaide Tree Surgery

If the council has told you your tree is significant or regulated, you will need a report before anyone touches it. That is what our arborist reports are for, including tree assessments for building developments prepared against Australian Standard AS 4970-2009 for the protection of trees on development sites, and pest and disease management and treatment options can be worked into the same assessment.

The Adelaide Tree Surgery has been looking after trees for private and corporate clients across Adelaide and South Australia since 2002, owned and managed by Mark Elliott. Between us the team holds Arboriculture Certificates III to V, Certificates of Horticulture and Diplomas of Arboriculture. We are involved with the South Australian Society of Arboriculture and are members of the International Society of Arboriculture, and we carry twenty million dollars of public liability along with professional indemnity and WorkCover cover.

Our climbing arborists use the latest climbing and lowering systems and a wide range of specialist equipment, which is how we get into trees no machine is going to reach. We take on tree removal and tree pruning, with stump removal afterwards where the stump is in the way of whatever you want to do with the space.

Tree root investigation is a less common piece of work and one we are set up for. Using Hydro-Vac, a focused supersonic jet of air, we excavate the soil from around a tree's roots and bare them without bruising or damaging them, so on a development or construction site you can see what is actually under the ground and what the proposed works will do to an established tree. The same tool covers root barrier installation, radial trenching, aeration, root collar excavation, reducing soil compaction, and transplanting or bare-rooting a tree that has to move.
