The Arborist Co

Some of the Blackheath gardens on our books we have been looking after since 2013. The Arborist Co is Matt and Meri, working out of Mount Victoria with more than ten years in the tree maintenance business behind us, and over that time the work has grown from garden care into arborist contracts, including several years of tree works at Scenic World in Katoomba.

These days we service the whole mountains line, from Glenbrook in the east up through Springwood, Lawson, Katoomba and Blackheath to Mount Victoria and out to Lithgow. Difficult removals are what we have built the business around, and alongside them we take on pruning, dead wooding and view management, thinning and lifting a canopy so an outlook comes back without the tree being ruined to get it. Where a tree is worth keeping we would sooner keep it, which is why habitat tree preservation sits on our list next to the removals.

Our tipper utility and chipper are what make the awkward blocks up here workable, because they get in where a bigger rig cannot and process the material where it lands. There is a job on our site that shows how it goes: a large dead Radiata pine, blocked down in sections, the small wood put straight through the chipper and the rest cut to firewood size for the owner to burn. That choice is yours on every job. We will cut your material to firewood lengths and split it, chip the limbs for mulch, and either leave the lot with you or take it all off site.

Living on a mountains block brings work that flatter suburbs never see. We create bushfire asset protection zones, including several acres of APZ work for one Blackheath property, we maintain trees over tracks and trees in public domains, and we sort out DA tree compliance when a development application turns on what happens to the trees.
