Tom's Rural Tree Services

Tom's Rural Tree Services is a qualified arborist business based in Porepunkah, in the Alpine country of north east Victoria. Owner Tom grew up climbing trees, went on to gain his qualifications in arboriculture, and came back to the Porepunkah area in 2014 to set up on his own. Since then the crew and the gear have grown, with Rusty running things on site.

The main work is tree removal and tree pruning, done to the Australian standards for tree care rather than just cutting to suit. That covers everything from taking out a dead or dangerous tree near the house to shaping and thinning established trees so they stay healthy and safe.

Being a qualified arborist, Tom also does the health side of the job. Tree bracing supports weak or splitting limbs on trees worth keeping, while stem and soil injection treats trees for pests, disease or nutrient problems from the inside out. Habitat installation is on offer too, for landholders wanting to keep hollows and nesting sites for wildlife.

The rural side is where the business earns its name. Flail mulching knocks back scrub and regrowth across paddocks and boundaries, stump grinding clears what is left after a removal, and small earthworks handle the ground work that often comes with clearing on a rural block.

Tom's Rural Tree Services works across Porepunkah, Bright and the surrounding Alpine Shire in north east Victoria, taking on both town blocks and rural properties.
