Out of Howrah on Hobart's eastern shore, we have spent more than a decade taking trees down and looking after the ones that stay. Total Tree Works runs with qualified arborists and full insurance, and every job starts the same way: work out what is holding the tree up, work out where it can safely go, then get it there without leaving a mess behind us.

Tree removal is the part that takes the most planning. We take out trees of any size, whether they are dead, unstable or simply in the wrong spot, and where there is room we will drop the lot in one go. Where there is not, it comes down in sections off the ropes. Stump grinding finishes that work off, ground out below ground level so you can turf, plant or pave straight over the top instead of landscaping around a lump of hardwood.

If you would rather keep the tree, that is usually the better outcome and we will say so. Tree pruning and ongoing tree maintenance cover crown lifting to get branches up off a roofline or driveway, deadwood removal to take the risk out of an older tree, and formative pruning on younger stock so it grows into a shape that will not cause you grief in fifteen years. Everything that comes off a job goes through the chipper on site, and the timber turns into the mulch and firewood we sell on. Land clearing is the same work at a larger scale, for new builds, subdivisions and getting fuel away from the house before summer.

Hobart and the surrounding districts are our patch. Recent jobs have had us across the eastern shore around Howrah, out along Back Tea Tree Road in the Coal River country, and south through Kingston and Snug. Trees do not wait for business hours, and neither do we.
