Whatever state your problem tree is in, dead, dying or overgrown, there is a fair chance it is already home to birds, possums, bats, sugar gliders or bees. That is the awkward part of any removal, and it is why habitat creation sits on our service list rather than in a paragraph about our values. We repurpose the branches, trunks and stumps into new homes for the wildlife that was living in the tree, so your site keeps its biodiversity and loses the falling branches and the clutter.

Trav's Tree Services was established in 2010 by Travis Garden, starting out as two mates with a truck and a chipper, and it has grown into a family of nine made up of qualified arborists, experienced tree climbers and groundsmen, working from a head office at Preston. We take jobs right across metropolitan Melbourne, from removing trees on residential sites in Kew through to arborist reports on public parks in Boroondara.

The everyday list is tree removal, tree pruning and stump grinding and removal, with site clearance for a block going under construction and power line clearance where growth has got up into the wires. Hedge trimming and tree planting and maintenance handle the ongoing side. Green waste does not simply vanish either, so there is tree mulching on site and a separate mulch delivery if you would sooner have the chip back on your own garden beds. Possum tree guards keep possums out of a canopy and out of your roof, and cable and rod bracing, dynamic bracing and support fabrication give a veteran tree the help it needs to stand for another few decades. Where a veteran is already dead, we can take the dangerous limbs off and leave the rest of it standing as a monument.

Our arborists are certified, and we hold membership of the International Society of Arboriculture, the Victorian Tree Industry Organisation and EBIX. Public liability cover runs to 20 million dollars with 5 million of indemnity cover on top, alongside WorkCover and motor vehicle and machinery insurance, and the current policies and safety procedures are there to download from our own site. The Australian Standards we work to are set out on the same page: AS 4373:2007 for pruning of amenity trees, AS 4970-2009 for protection of trees on development sites, AS 2303-2015 for tree stock, and the chainsaw and protective clothing standards underneath those. Compliance data is collected through ProofSafe. Emergency tree services run off the back of all of it, with a hazard team that can deploy within hours.
