Tree Amigos

Since 1998 we have been providing arboricultural services across Perth metro and surrounds, and more than 20,000 jobs have gone through the books in that time. Stuart Proudfoot founded Tree Amigos on 10 June 1998 and turned it into a company in May 2002, and the team he has handpicked since, from climbers to pruners through to administration, are full time employees.

We are renowned for specialising in large tree removal, though pruning is our forte. Big tree dismantling is done with cranes, EWPs and qualified climbers, and we take on mass clearing for residential and commercial developments as well. Trees come out for all sorts of reasons, disease, structural damage or land development among them, and we would always rather look at whether one can be kept first.

Pruning and tree lopping is worked either on rope or out of an EWP, and it covers corrective and formative pruning, crown lifts, remedial pruning, dead wood removal, drip line and weight reduction, thinning and balance, fenceline clearances and hedging. Palm removal is on the list too.

After a removal, stump grinding takes the stump down about 30cm below ground level to stop regrowth and get the ground flat again, with deeper grinds available if you need one. We run large and small grinders off a 4WD mobile work station, and the smallest gap we can get a machine through is 750mm, so tell us about the side gate when you call. Water mains, gas lines and anything sitting too close will change what we can do.

There is always a tonne of green waste left after a prune, and we run the lot through our wood chipper to turn it into organic mulch. Our base is a newly acquired industrial yard at Wangara, with a second yard at Gnangara for stockpiling that mulch and converting unwanted logs into firewood, which is how we leave a site clean without carting everything to a tip.

For tree health and care we do health inspections and evaluate safety concerns, and if we think your tree can be salvaged we will tell you. Tree consultations and planning is the same idea earlier on: we will flag any trees worth keeping an eye on and give you general care advice. Our qualified arborists are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, we carry $20 million of public liability cover, and we work for private, commercial, industrial and government customers right across the Perth metropolitan area and out into the country.
