About This Business
On 10 June 1998 Stuart Proudfoot started Tree Amigos, and by May 2002 there was enough work behind him to turn it into a company. More than 47,000 jobs have gone through the books since then. Stu has handpicked the team ever since, climbers, pruners and administration alike, all of them full time employees, and the clients they work for are private, commercial, industrial and government.
We operate out of an industrial yard at Wangara, with a second yard at Gnangara where we stockpile mulch and convert unwanted logs into firewood. That second yard is the reason a job site gets left clean. There is always a tonne of green waste after a prune, and the lot of it goes through our wood chipper and comes back out as organic mulch instead of going to a tip.
Stumps are where access decides everything. We run a range of portable stump grinders that will fit through a small side gate and down a narrow passage, and they will reach stumps other machines never get near: sitting on top of a retaining wall, inside a planter box, or in ground too delicate to drive a big machine over. Tell us about the side gate when you ring, because that measurement decides which grinder comes out on the truck.
Large tree removal is what we are best known for, though pruning is the work we would put our name to first. If a tree is dead, dangerous or simply unwanted, we will take it out, and our level 5 arborists have been in enough tricky positions over the years to have found a way through most of them. Tree lopping and pruning shape the way a tree grows rather than only the way it looks, and we handle palm tree removal and palm trimming too.
Not every tree that worries you needs to come out. Our tree health and care work is health inspections and a straight read on the safety of a tree, and if we think yours can be salvaged we will tell you so. Tree consultations and planning does the same thing earlier on: we will point out the trees worth keeping an eye on and give you the general care advice to keep them going.
Our arborists are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and we carry $20 million of public liability cover. Before any work starts you get a comprehensive written quote from a qualified arborist, and we are glad to talk it through so you know exactly what we propose to achieve, whether the job is in the Perth metropolitan area or out in the country. Ring the office for a free estimate, or fill in the form and upload a few photos of the tree, and we will come out and have a look at it.
