About This Business

After the 2014 fires that tore through the properties around Stoneville in the Shire of Mundaring, we were one of the main contractors the state government brought in. Tree Care WA started in 1991 and now employs more than 35 trained staff, working right across the Perth metropolitan area and regional Western Australia for householders, commercial and civil clients, mine sites and state and local government departments.

Fire mitigation work takes us to asset managers, land management agencies, utilities, councils, mine sites and the Department of Fire and Emergency Services. That covers vegetation hazard reduction, BAL asset protection zone clearing, understorey forestry mulching, boundary and strategic firebreak construction and maintenance, shredding down green waste piles, and taking out fire damaged trees. Our forestry mulchers shred standing trees and their root systems with very little disturbance to the ground and leave the mulch where it falls.

Pruning is cut to AS 4373: corrective and formative work that sets a young tree's shape, remedial and restorative work on one that has been handled badly before, crown reduction, deadwood, hazard reduction, habitat and fracture pruning, palm de-seeding and frond removal, boundary line work and powerline clearances to the regulatory requirement. Large tree removal in a confined backyard is done off an elevated work platform, off a crane, or by rope access climbers with rigging, whichever the site actually allows, and the truck and chipper take the debris away with them. Stump grinding and stump extraction, cable bracing, block and development land clearing and habitat pruning with nest installation round it out.

Our consulting arborists hold AQF Level 5 diplomas and work to AS 4373 and AS 4970 on arboriculture reports: visual tree assessments, tree protection plans, structural and critical root zone assessments, development site tree management, tree valuations, QTRA and TRAQ tree risk assessments and an onsite supervising arborist service. Aerial inspections are done by climbing, by platform or by drone, depending on the tree. We are members of the International Society of Arboriculture, Arboriculture Australia, the Tree Contractors Association Australia and Arbwest, and a WALGA approved contractor.

When trees come down in a storm, emergency tree assistance runs 24/7 and we can put multiple crews on at short notice, with rope access climbers, crane trucks, elevated work platforms from 12 to 70 metres, tracked and narrow access loaders, excavators, whole tree chippers, stump grinders and tippers behind them. Our patch is the whole Perth metropolitan area and the rural country to the east, out through the Pilbara, Gascoyne, Wheatbelt, Mid West, Great Southern and South West regions.

More than 80 per cent of our work comes from repeat customers or a personal recommendation, and that is the number we would rather be judged on than any adjective. Free call 1800 960 811, or ring 0412 441 811 direct, and we will come and look at the job and quote it for nothing.
