About This Business
Josh Geyle runs Tree Culture, and he got here through the classroom as well as the tree: Certificate IV and V and a Diploma in Arboriculture and Horticulture, all through Melbourne University. It is the reason nothing gets cut here until the tree has been looked at properly. We are fully insured and equipped to complete jobs of any size, and we work out of Yarraville.
We are traditionally climbing arborists, and all of our staff are also qualified for the use of EWP platforms. That combination is what settles how we reach a canopy: rope and harness where the tree will carry it, an elevated work platform where the limbs hang over a roof, a fence or a footpath and climbing alone would put a person in the wrong spot. Tree removal and felling takes in the hazardous and the dead along with the healthy trees that have simply outgrown the block, and when a storm puts a tree or a limb down, our emergency tree services make the site safe and clear the damage away.
Tree assessments and reports are the other side of that qualification, written for property owners, builders and councils who need a considered opinion on the condition of a tree before a decision gets made. We also run school tree safety assessments across Melbourne and the Bass Coast, checking that the trees on school grounds are sound before a few hundred kids sit under them at lunchtime.
For the trees staying where they are, we do tree pruning and hedging to keep a canopy healthy, balanced and clear of buildings and lines, and hedge trimming gets done either as a one off tidy up or on a regular round. After a removal, stump grinding gets the stump out below ground so the space can be replanted or built over. Our week runs through Yarraville, Altona, Spotswood, Sunshine, Williamstown, Footscray, Newport, Middle Park, Port Melbourne and Toorak, and down into the Bass Coast Shire and South Gippsland Shire as far as Wonthaggi, Phillip Island, Leongatha and Foster.
The timber does not go to waste. What comes off a job turns into mulch and firewood and we sell both, so a tree that came out of one garden finishes up in somebody else's beds or fireplace. If you want a tree looked at, a report written, or a load of mulch dropped off, ring Josh on 0412 303 913 and we will work out a time to come and see it.
