About This Business
Being TasNetworks certified is what lets us work on a tree that has grown into the network's lines, and it's the first thing worth checking whenever the tree in question is anywhere near one. Tree Doctor Tasmania is based at Stony Rise on the edge of Devonport, fully insured, with certified arborists and horticulturalists on staff who are trained in arborist safety and have spent years climbing, chipping and working at heights.
A tree in a tight spot, or on ground too uneven to bring a machine onto, is where climbing arboriculture earns its keep. Our climbers go up and take the tree down piece by piece, and the same skills carry the hazardous removals after a blow. When a storm has left a tree part broken or still hanging, the emergency service gets the hazard off your property before it finishes coming down by itself. Where height is the problem and climbing isn't the right call, we have a fleet of cherry pickers to reach it.
Our tree pruning is done to the proper cuts, because a tree butchered once carries that for the rest of its life. Where a tree is past helping, tree removal covers the one in decline, the one that has already died, the one that has turned into a safety risk to the public, and the ones that simply have to make way for a build. If you want the tree looked at before any of that gets decided, our arborists will give you a straight read on it.
What comes down is dealt with on site. The crew will chip and block the remaining limbs and trunk, so the small limbs and foliage go through the chipper into mulch you can put straight onto the garden, and the larger wood is blocked into firewood for the winter. If you'd sooner it all went offsite, we'll take it. Then there's the stump. Stump grinding and removal clears what's left, and a stump in the ground isn't only a safety hazard, it draws termites and other harmful insects in close. Between the cherry pickers and a large fleet of machinery for excavation and digging, shifting big limbs and big masses of soil isn't the hard part of the day.
We cover northern Tasmania: Devonport, Ulverstone, Penguin, Latrobe and Sheffield, through Burnie, Wynyard and Smithton in the north west, across to Deloraine, Westbury, Launceston, George Town and Scottsdale, and down the coasts to St Helens, St Marys, Bicheno, Campbell Town and Strahan. Ring or email for a free quote, and tell us at the same time whether you want the mulch and the firewood left with you or carted away, because it changes the job and we'd sooner price it the way you actually want it done.
