Tree Live

Expert witness reports for the Land and Environment Court of NSW are part of what we take on. Tree Live is a consulting arborist practice rather than a removal crew, run by Mitchell Marino, who has been consulting since 2005. He holds an AQF Level 4 Certificate in Horticulture and Arboriculture from that year, an AQF Level 5 Diploma from 2016 and an AQF Level 8 Graduate Certificate finished at the University of Melbourne in 2021. He is ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualified through to 2029 and a Registered Consulting Arborist with Arboriculture Australia, member number 3263.

Arboricultural impact assessment reports are what a council will ask for when trees sit on or beside a site you want to build on, whether that is a Development Application or a Complying Development Certificate. Before it gets that far, a pre-development onsite consultation tells you what the trees mean for the design while the design can still change. Once work starts we can act as site project arborist, writing the tree protection specifications and checking on site that they are being followed.

Where the question is whether a tree is safe, our tree risk assessments follow the TRAQ methodology, and tree health reports cover condition along with pest and disease identification and what can be done about it. We carry out aerial inspections to get at the parts of a canopy nobody can read from the ground, and root mapping and root pruning reports where the problem is under the soil instead of above it.

Two others are worth naming. A pre-purchase inspection tells you what you are taking on before you sign on a property, because a mature tree in poor condition comes with a cost attached to it. Aboriginal Scarred Tree assessment and reports deal with culturally modified trees, which have to be identified properly before anybody makes a decision about them. We also write tree pruning specifications and tree management plans for sites with trees that need looking after across years rather than in one visit.

We work through the Camden, Campbelltown, Wollondilly, Liverpool, Fairfield, Georges River, Canterbury Bankstown, Penrith, Wingecarribee and Wollongong council areas, and anything outside those we will look at case by case.
