Twenty three years on, our arborists are certified and fully qualified, we are fully insured, and every job is carried out to AS 4373-2007, the current Australian Standard for pruning amenity trees.

When a tree has to come out, the blocks between Manly and Palm Beach rarely leave anywhere to drop it, so we dismantle from up in the tree and rig the sections down one at a time. The site gets left neat, which on a job like that takes as long as the cutting does. Dead, damaged and dangerous trees all come out the same way, and so do the ones that have simply outgrown a courtyard.

Working to the standard matters most on tree pruning and shaping. A tree cut back with no regard for where the cuts go puts on weak regrowth and comes back worse within a few seasons, so the cuts we make are the ones a tree can seal over and grow away from. Shaping is the same discipline applied for looks as well as health, so a tree keeps a form that suits where it is standing.

Hedges are a job in their own right, which is why large scale hedge pruning sits on that list. An established hedge along a boundary needs a consistent line, a decision about the finished height that everyone is happy with, and somebody prepared to spend the day getting it straight. We take on the big ones, the long boundary runs and the hedges that have not been touched in years and need bringing back in stages.

Our 24/7 emergency callout is available around the clock for the urgent ones: a limb down after a storm, a tree leaning against a house, anything at all that cannot safely wait until morning. The first priority on arrival is making the property safe, and the tidy up follows once the risk is gone.
