About This Business
Goldfields clay, freezing fog and streets laid out a century ago. That is what a tree in Ballarat is growing in, and it is the ground we have spent our working lives learning to read. Tree Removal Ballarat is locally based and stays local, covering Ballarat and the suburbs around it: Wendouree, Lake Wendouree, Sebastopol, Soldiers Hill, Alfredton, Buninyong, Delacombe, Mount Helen, Redan and Mount Clear. Every arborist on the crew holds AQF Level 3 as a minimum, we carry public liability cover, and the certificate of currency is yours on request before anyone starts a saw.
One job on our books gives you the picture. An elm at Soldiers Hill with a frost cracked scaffold limb sitting over a fence, no drop zone worth the name, and no side access wide enough to bring a machine down. It came out in sections, roped and lowered piece by piece across the fence line. That is what tree removal looks like on a lot of these blocks, where the narrow passage between two century old houses decides the method long before the size of the tree does.
For the trees that are staying, tree pruning lifts canopies clear of roofs, gutters and power lines and takes weight out of heavy limbs before a hard frost or a westerly finds the weak union. Once a tree is gone, stump grinding clears what is left below the surface so the lawn can go straight back over it. On bigger blocks, land clearing opens ground up for building, fencing, paddock or fire preparation, and mulching and wood chipping turns what we cut into mulch on site so it stays on your property instead of leaving on a truck.
You can see our guide prices before you ring: $300 to $600 for a tree under six metres, $800 to $1,800 between six and twelve, and $2,000 to $6,000 or more for the large and hazardous ones, with a $200 to $500 surcharge on an emergency callout. Where somebody else needs convincing, we arrange formal consulting arborist reports, whether that is a planning application the City of Ballarat wants tree advice on, an insurance file that needs a qualified opinion on whether a storm actually caused the failure being claimed, or two neighbours at odds over whether a shared tree is a hazard. Those run one to two weeks from site inspection to finished document, faster when a deadline is pressing, and the report is paid for as advice, with findings that stand apart from whoever ends up doing the work.
The office is open Monday to Saturday, 7am to 6pm, and same day quotes are the norm. Ring 0480 887 586 and we will come and look at the tree. If a limb comes down at two in the morning, ring the same number, because our emergency tree services take callouts around the clock.
