Doug's mother was a horticulturist who owned a nursery, so his childhood years were spent either in it or off climbing the largest trees he could find. He managed dairy farms in New South Wales and on the North Island of New Zealand before the climbing won out, and in 2007 he and his wife Lauren started Tree Solutions NSW at Rainbow Flat. We are known now as the large tree specialists, and Doug has a name locally as one of the most experienced high climbing arborists around.

The crew is built from long standing team members, highly trained, qualified and experienced, and we trust them to do the required work safely and efficiently. We are fully insured, we hold commercial contracts with local governments and insurance companies, and the standard of workmanship stays the same regardless of how simple or complex the job is. We enjoy being part of this community as well: we have sponsored a local junior and senior football club for the past few years and turn up regularly to local events and fundraisers.

The trees we remove are commonly dead or dying, diseased, dangerous, or just getting too big for their surroundings and starting to interfere with infrastructure. We pride ourselves on doing tree removal with care and precision, dismantling large trees in a way that preserves your property, and we will advise you on the tree's health and identify any safety concerns first so there is a plan of action before a saw comes out. Our tree pruning and hedge trimming run from light limb work through to dead wooding a large tree, and we also take on powerline clearance and land clearing.

Stumps come out with grinders of all different sizes, chosen for the stump and the access we have to it, and where a stump is very large with an invasive root system we excavate it out of the ground. Once it is gone the tree will not grow back and cause you further problems. Our wood chipping and mulching turns what comes off the job into wood chips and mulch you can use, and if you love a tree but it is in the wrong spot, ask us about transplanting it, which is a wonderful alternative to losing it altogether.

We are available and on call 24 hours a day for emergencies such as bad weather events, and we work all year round with several insurance companies on storm damaged trees. That means removing the fallen and damaged trees, precise pruning and limb removal to eliminate the hazards, bracing and cabling to stabilise a tree that has structural damage but can still be saved, and thorough debris clearance so the mess leaves with us.

On the civil side, our certified arboriculturists produce tree assessments and reports covering tree health, structural integrity and risk on construction sites, build tree preservation strategies that minimise root disturbance and optimise soil conditions during construction, carry out root mapping and soil management, and guide you through permits, local bylaws and the relevant authorities.
