About This Business
Jonathan Getty and Paul Mooney met on a job site, both subcontracted to somebody else, and got talking about how few Adelaide tree companies actually turned up when they said they would. Tree Tech SA has been in business since 2017 and started as the two of them. Five years in there were more than 20 of us, and the work had grown from suburban backyards to commercial sites and council contracts.
Councils across South Australia keep us on for arborist reports and for clearing up after storms. We carry $20 million in public liability and $5 million in professional indemnity, and every site gets a hazard assessment before a saw comes off the truck. More than 4,000 projects and over 170 five star reviews sit behind that.
Taking a tree out is a last resort, and we will tell you when pruning or spraying would do the job instead. Where it does have to come down, the difficult ones are the big trees with deep roots sitting close to a house, a shed or a stone wall, and that is the kind of tree removal we are set up for, with certified arborists and the machinery to match. Tree lopping can save a tree that has only been part damaged, by a lightning strike or a few branches over the roof, though recovery depends on the species, the age and the health of the tree, so we will look at it on site and give you a straight answer. Tree pruning and trimming keeps a canopy sound and clear of the power lines, and stump grinding normally follows a removal within 48 hours, or on the same day if you ask us to fit it in.
Storm jobs go to the front of the queue. Our emergency hazard team can be on site within hours when something has come down or is hanging where it should not be. We also manage veteran trees, the old ones that want looking after rather than removing. If your tree is regulated or significant, the approval side can hold a job up for weeks, so we sort that out with you before the crew is booked.
We run out of Brighton and Uraidla, which covers the coast and the hills between them, and we work right through metropolitan Adelaide: Glenelg, Henley Beach, Norwood, Unley, Magill, Walkerville, Flagstaff Hill and Belair among them, up through the Adelaide Hills around Crafers, and out into rural South Australia when the job is worth the trip.
Quotes are free, written, and come with the hazard assessment attached. All cuttings and timber go with us unless you would rather keep the mulch or the firewood. Domestic or commercial, no job is too big or too small, so give us a ring and we will come and have a look at the tree.
