About This Business

Sean rang us about a substantial tree wedged between a 120 year old house and a stone wall. Paul had it quoted within hours of the call, John and the crew were there two days later, and both the house and the wall came through it untouched. Big trees with deep roots sitting hard against a building are what Tree Tech SA is set up for, because those are the ones where a cheap attempt turns into an expensive repair.

Felling is generally the last resort, once spraying, pruning or lopping has failed or was never going to work in the first place. Sometimes the whole tree doesn't need to go, and tree lopping can save one that's only been part damaged, by a lightning strike or by a few branches causing trouble, though not every species responds well and recovery comes down to the age and health of the tree. That's a judgement we'd sooner make standing in front of it, so we inspect on site and tell you which way to go. Tree pruning and trimming holds the structure and health of a tree together and keeps limbs clear of the power lines, and a trim to a hedge or an overgrown canopy changes how the whole yard reads from your windows. Once a tree is down, stump grinding mills the remainder into chips you can keep as mulch or firewood, depending on the size and species.

Brighton and Uraidla are the two places we run from, which puts the coast at one end of the operation and the hills at the other. Between them sit Glenelg, Henley Beach, Grange, Somerton Park, Hallett Cove, Norwood, Unley, Magill, Walkerville, Flagstaff Hill and Belair, along with the rest of metropolitan Adelaide, and we take jobs up through the Adelaide Hills around Crafers and out into rural South Australia.

Jonathan Getty and Paul Mooney were both subcontracting to someone else on the same job site when they worked out how much of Adelaide was waiting on a tree crew that would actually show up. They started as a two-man outfit. Five years later there were more than 20 of us and the work had widened from suburban backyards into commercial sites, and we now have upwards of 4,000 projects, more than 1,000 customers and over 170 five star reviews behind us.

Councils across South Australia keep us on for detailed arborist reports and for managing storm-related tree damage. We carry $20 million in public liability and $5 million in professional indemnity, and every project gets a thorough hazard assessment before any work starts. Veteran trees are their own discipline, and looking after the old ones so they can stay where they are sits alongside the removal work. All waste and debris leave with us, and the worksite stays safe to walk through while the crew is still on it.

If something has come down, or is hanging where it shouldn't be, our emergency hazard team can be on site within hours and storm jobs go to the front of the queue. For everything else the scheduling bends around yours, domestic or commercial, and no job is too big or too small. Ring us for a free quote and one of us will come out and look at the tree with you.
