Treebeards Arboriculture

Every job gets filmed from the air, before and after, so you can see what actually changed in the canopy without going up a ladder to check. Treebeards Arboriculture runs out of Marian in the Mackay region, and there is more than forty years in the industry behind it between Warran McLeod and Allan Erickson. Both of us came out of local council arboriculture, and we carry comprehensive insurance cover on site.

Warran holds a Certificate 5 Diploma of Arboriculture and a Certificate 3 in aviation as a licensed drone pilot, and at council he had four arbor crews, up to five contractor teams and the Main Roads tree maintenance under him. Allan is a Certificate 3 trade qualified arborist who was senior leading hand on a council arbor crew, running maintenance, cyclone recovery, pruning on historical trees and apprentice training. Between us we hold HR licences, high risk EWP and Hiab crane tickets, poison accreditation and current first aid.

On the maintenance side we take on tree removal and lopping, formative pruning that sets a young tree's structure early, and stump grinding so the roots stop lifting your pipes and paving. We do weed management with methods that will not wreck what is growing around the target, tree planting matched to your soil, your climate and the room you actually have, and palm and coconut de-nutting before the nuts come down on their own. Mulching with organic material finishes most jobs off.

The consulting side runs on those same council years. We write arboricultural reports, health and condition assessments, root investigations and tree impact assessment reports to AS 4970, act as project arborist on development sites, and put together tree protection management plans that will stand up when the certifier reads them. We also handle nursery inspections, pest and disease management, and plain onsite consultations when all you want is a straight answer about one tree.

Our maintenance crews cover Mackay and the surrounding region, roughly two to three hours drive out, and the consulting work goes right across Central Queensland.
