Chris Wright qualified as an arborist in 2012 and spent the years after it climbing in Sweden, the United Kingdom and New Zealand before settling at Margaret River in 2016. Since then he has worked on some of the South West's best known trees, the Valley of the Giants among them, along with Pemberton's fire lookouts: the Bicentennial Tree, the Gloucester Tree and the Diamond Tree. Treeco Arboriculture is his own venture, run now around a family of two young boys, and every arborist on the crew is fully qualified, equipped and insured.

What we would rather do is keep your tree. Tree pruning and thinning is where we start whenever there is a way to get the outlook you want without losing the tree altogether, and we will put a maintenance program together where it needs looking after across years rather than in a single visit. Where a tree is dead, dangerous or genuinely causing you a problem, tree removals are handled safely and our in-house stump grinding finishes the job so nothing grows back from what is left.

If Western Power has sent you a 40 day vegetation notice, we hold the licences and insurances to work on trees encroaching on powerlines and we know what their clearance requirements actually ask for, so powerline pruning is one to bring to us. Our tree reports set out health, species, age and size, the risks we can see and the course of action we would recommend. For a tree worth holding onto, cabling and bracing adds structural support so a limb is less likely to let go in bad weather or as the tree puts on weight.

We also supply and install habitat. Tree hollows take decades to form naturally and native animals need them now, so we will fit artificial wildlife hollows you have bought elsewhere, or provide and install natural ones salvaged from condemned trees that would otherwise have been destroyed. The chip we make goes to good use as well: put your details on our mulch delivery register and we will contact you next time we are working in your area.

Our patch runs from Busselton to Augusta and Margaret River to Nannup, taking in Dunsborough, Yallingup, Cowaramup, Gracetown, Witchcliffe, Rosa Brook, Vasse, Osmington and Burnside. For larger jobs we are happy to travel further out, to Bunbury, Australind, Collie, Donnybrook, Bridgetown, Manjimup, Pemberton, Walpole, Denmark and Albany. When a storm or a wild night brings something down, our 24/7 emergency tree callouts get the property safe so a full assessment can be made in the morning.
