Treescape started back in 1981 with little more than a VW Beetle, a couple of chainsaws and a solid work ethic. Ed Chignell and Brandon Whiddett got it going in New Zealand, and by 2006 we had crossed the Tasman and set up in Australia. We employ over 600 staff across Australasia now, but the care we put into a single tree is the same as it was in that first year. Our Queensland base is here in Wacol, on Brisbane's south west, and the crews that run from it look after work right across the region.

For households, we cover the everyday tree work. We take a tree out when it has outgrown its spot or started leaning the wrong way and begun to worry you, and we handle the pruning and shaping that keeps the rest of your trees healthy and safe. Once a tree is down we grind the stump out so the ground is clear to use again, and we will trim back any hedges that have got away from you while we are on site. Every one of those jobs is done by certified arborists, the same crews who deliver our commercial contracts, so a house block gets the same standard as a major project.

We also take on work well beyond the backyard. When a council or a builder needs one, we prepare arborist reports and give consulting advice on what can stay and what has to go. On larger sites we handle land clearing and mulching, planting and ongoing maintenance, and we run powerline clearing to keep vegetation clear of utility lines. It is the large-scale green asset management side of the business, and it runs to the safety and compliance systems a company our size is held to.

From the Wacol yard we cover Brisbane and down through the Gold Coast, and we run further operations at Gladstone, Mackay and Rockhampton in Queensland, with a Sydney base in New South Wales as well. It means a homeowner and a large commercial site along that stretch of coast get the same crews and the same backing behind them.
