A tree growing inside the minimum distance of an insulated electric service line is a hazard, and not an obvious one from the ground. When a branch falls, or a strong wind pushes the tree towards the line, it can cut the power to your house, start a fire, or bring the line down where somebody could be injured or electrocuted. We value tree retention, so if we think your tree can be salvaged we'll tell you.
