About This Business

A stump sitting over the plumbing is the one that decides how a job gets done. Grinding it leaves a clean, flat surface by mulching the surface roots a few inches down, and on most blocks that is the end of the matter. Where the roots have wound themselves through pipes or wiring, we take the stump removal out by hand instead of putting an excavator through your plumbing, and where there is room to dig, excavation gets the whole thing out. Which of those you get is a decision we make standing over it, not one made before we have seen it.

The machines that travel with us are a 2023 Rayco RG 55 stump cutter, a 2017 Bandit 1890 wood chipper and a 2023 Niftylift 170, and we bring cranes in when a tree is too big or too awkward for anything else to handle. Our crew is trained to run cranes, excavators and wood chippers, licensed to Australian standards and fully insured, and everyone goes back through the protocols on a regular basis.

Not every tree has room to fall. Where there is nothing underneath that would survive the drop, we take it down in sections, and that holds for tree removal on a suburban block and tree felling out on a rural one. For the trees that are staying, tree lopping and tree pruning bring a canopy back off a roof and get the deadwood out of it, and regular tree trimming and tree maintenance keeps it that way through the build-up. When you want to know where a tree stands before you decide anything, we write tree reports and give you the advice with them, and we handle tree planting if you want something back in the gap.

Byron Hobbs started this and has more than 16 years in the industry, including years in the Territory's rural and remote country as well as the Darwin suburbs. Locally owned and family operated, we have been looking after trees up here for close to two decades. Our yard is at Livingstone, and the run covers Darwin, Palmerston, Humpty Doo and Howard Springs, along with Larrakeyah, The Gardens, Stuart Park, Woolner, Parap, Bayview and Fannie Bay.

The phone runs 24 hours a day, seven days a week, so emergency tree work after a storm gets dealt with when it happens. For anything that can wait, send through a description of the job with a few photos and we will get a free estimate back to you, or give us a ring and we will come out and look at the tree ourselves.
