About This Business
An AQF Level 5 qualification is what lets an arborist write assessment and evaluation reports on the trees and shrubs on your property, and our principal arborist Glenn holds one, with more than 20 years in the tree industry behind it. Urban Tree Care is a family owned and operated business based at Medowie in Port Stephens, and we have been looking after homes and businesses around here for over 15 years. Every job gets done safely, promptly and reliably, and our qualified arborists work strictly to all relevant Australian standards.
Safety sits at the front of everything we do, for our employees, our sub contractors, the public and your property. All of our staff are thoroughly trained in safe work methods so every job is completed with minimal risk, and we maintain full insurance on every vehicle and piece of equipment that comes onto your block. Council approval is part of the same discipline: where a job needs it, the work waits on it.
Glenn and the team handle everything from a small tree job to a large scale removal. We take on tree removals, tree pruning and tree lopping, deadwood removal to get the dangerous timber out of a crown before it comes down of its own accord, and general tree maintenance to keep a canopy in order year to year. On larger sites we take on block and land clearing to get ground ready for development, and our mulching and wood chipping turns what comes off the job into something you can put straight back on the garden.
After a removal we finish with stump grinding, which prevents regrowth, takes away a real safety hazard, improves how the place looks and reduces the chance of unwanted pests moving in. We can grind out any stump with the right equipment, roots and all, and once it is out we fill the hole back to ground level so your site is ready for the next project. Stump removal can be carried out in most locations, so give us a ring for advice on your particular job.
Glenn's AQF Level 5 also puts arborist reports and Arboricultural Impact Assessments within what we can offer you. An AIA is required for any development project where construction or disturbance occurs in the vicinity of existing trees, which covers trees marked on survey drawings, works proposed near roots or canopy, and protected or significant trees on a site. Our detailed reports help you meet council requirements while your trees are assessed and managed properly the whole way through the build.
Being local counts for something in this trade. We know the native species, the environmental conditions, the regulations and the pests and diseases that turn up around here, which is what tells you how a tree will actually behave on a Hunter block. You will find us throughout Port Stephens, Newcastle and the Hunter, including Medowie, Raymond Terrace, Nelson Bay, Salamander Bay, Anna Bay, Shoal Bay, Corlette, Soldiers Point, Lemon Tree Passage, Tanilba Bay, Karuah, Seaham, Williamtown, Fern Bay, Heatherbrae, Beresfield, Wallsend, Kotara, Merewether, Mayfield and Hamilton. We are open Monday to Friday from 7am to 6pm, with Saturday and Sunday by appointment. Quotes are free, so call 0435 502 951 or email [email protected] and we will organise one for your next project.
