No tree can honestly be called completely safe. That is why a tree you are uneasy about wants looking at by somebody qualified before anybody puts a rope in it, and it is where our tree hazard inspections start. We carry $20 million in public liability and $2 million in public indemnity, with plant and equipment and work cover on top of it, and we will send you the certificates of currency if you ask for them.

When the findings have to be in writing for a council, a buyer or an insurer, our arborist reports and surveys put them there. On a build we can report at pre-construction, during construction, at practical completion and then final certification, so the tree side of the job gets signed off at each stage rather than argued over at the end of it.

What we leave behind is the part people remember. Wood is cut into 300 to 400mm lengths and not split, then stacked neatly at the base of the tree or out on the nature strip. Branches get chipped and the mulch goes with us unless you would rather keep it. On stump removal we grind the visible stump to below ground level, backfill the hole with the chips and leave the excess on site, where it makes good garden mulch. Underground and surface roots do not get chased out unless we have quoted for it, and we will need you to tell us where any underground services run.

For the trees staying put there is tree pruning and trimming and hedge trimming. One customer had four large trees pruned and cable braced by a team of four in four and a half hours. Another had a large cypress hedge brought down the side of the block, and said it was the best it had looked in years. Where a tree has a structural weakness but is worth keeping, cable bracing holds it together, and elm leaf beetle control and possum control deal with what is damaging a tree from the outside. Tree removal and tree climbing take care of the ones that genuinely have to come out.

Quotes are free, though we do need to visit the site to price a job accurately. If your council requires a permit we can prepare the application and supporting documentation for an additional fee, but unless we agree otherwise in writing, having the permits in place stays your responsibility.
