Limited access and hard to reach jobs are what we specialise in, and that shapes how Wayne Barry's Tree Services is set up: a large tree in a tight suburban yard with no room for a mistake, or something hard up against a house with nowhere to drop it. We are a locally owned and operated family business that has served the Greater Geelong region for more than 30 years, working out of Batesford just west of the city. No job is too big or small.

Our work covers Greater Geelong, the Bellarine Peninsula, the Surf Coast and everything around them, for householders, commercial clients and government alike. Our arborists are fully qualified and hold Red Card accreditation, which is the safety and competency standard for this trade, and we carry public liability insurance of up to $20 million. That figure is the one that matters when a heavy limb or a whole tree is coming down near a roof, a fence line or the powerlines.

Tree removal takes out the unhealthy, the diseased and the dead, from a single tree beside a house through to a paddock's worth of timber. Where a tree is too tall, too brittle or simply too awkward to climb, tower hire puts an elevated work platform under an arborist and gets them safely up into the canopy. Tree pruning and maintenance keeps established trees healthy and clear of gutters, roofs and the neighbours, with the safety of the property and the people on it as the point of the exercise. When a block has to be opened up, we handle tree and land clearing on residential, commercial and industrial properties, small scale or large.

Afterwards, stump removal and grinding takes the stump out of the ground so there is nothing left to trip over, harbour pests or get in the way of a new build or garden. Very little of it goes to landfill. The timber and green waste off each job runs through the chipper and comes back out as garden mulch, sold in bulk with delivery, so the trees that come down here end up feeding gardens around the district. Our workshop is open Monday to Thursday, 7am to 5pm, and Friday until 3:30pm.
