Roadside tree maintenance is where this started, back in 2004. Westarbor Vegetation Management has grown out of that into a full service vegetation business working from Dampier across the Pilbara. Mark Jarrett owns it and is a fully qualified arborist with more than 20 years in vegetation management, and he grew up in this part of the state, so the plants, the seasons and the sites are not new to him. Jodie runs the office and the day to day, which is why your calls get returned and you know where your job is up to.

You got plants? We got you covered. On the tree side that means tree and palm pruning for houses, hotels and commercial sites, and tree and palm removal with the stump grinding to finish it off when something has to come out for good. The green waste is chipped and taken away in the same visit. Where a tree is worth keeping, our arboriculture services take in pest and disease management, so you find out what is actually attacking it before it is too far gone to save.

The other side of what we do is weed control. We run modern herbicide spraying units with GPS mapping, so every pass is recorded and you can see exactly what has been treated and when, which matters when you have to show a compliance record. Alongside the spraying we do weed identification and full noxious weed programs, so the problem is dealt with by species rather than sprayed at blind.

For industry, councils and anyone holding a large block, we build and maintain firebreaks to meet the standard, keep access tracks and paths clear with spraying and maintenance, and run brush cutting, slashing and forestry mulching where the growth has got beyond a mower. Revegetation works and mulching go the other way, putting cover back once the ground is ready for it. We also handle yard and site clean ups and the rubbish removal that goes with them.

We work across the whole Pilbara from our base at Dampier, near Karratha, and the ibis Styles hotel in Karratha is one of the sites we look after for pruning and weed control. Safety comes before the schedule on every job, and we work to protect the local ecosystems we are cutting and spraying around, because we live in them too.
