About This Business
The tree leaning across a roofline with a Western Power service line strung underneath it is the one nobody wants to put a ladder against. Nigel and Suzie Williams have been taking those on since May 2005, when they started Williams Tree Pro Services working the suburbs south of the river, and it is still the family business it began as. Nigel holds a Certificate III in Arboriculture and a Certificate III in Turf Management with more than twenty years in the industry, and our two climbers are qualified arborists. We hold a WorkSafe licence for high risk tree work and a Western Power licence, our chainsaw, chipper and first aid tickets are current, we carry public liability cover, and we are members of the Tree Guild of Western Australia. Our regulars are in South Perth, Ardross, Banjup and Hammond Park, and we work right across Perth south of the river.
What makes a tree like that an ordinary morning is what turns up on the truck. Our 25 metre Isuzu cherry picker is insulated for work near live lines, and where a verge or a driveway will not take nine tonnes we bring the 14 metre Crown trailer mounted platform in instead. Either one puts a climber alongside a split limb without anyone loading a rope onto a stem that is already failing. Behind them sit Vermeer chippers at 18 and 12 inches, a log truck, a mulch truck, a Schaffer 2336 loader and a support truck, so the wood is off your ground and gone the same day the tree comes down.
Not every tree needs a machine that size. We take on tree pruning and tree lopping where a canopy has outgrown the block it is standing on, and palm tree removal and palm pruning with the dead fronds and seed heads brought down before they drop on their own. For stump grinding the access decides the machine: two Stump Humpers narrow enough to walk through a standard side gate for a backyard stump, and the RG50 where there is open room to work. On the commercial side we take land clearing, block clearance and subdivision levelling, and we maintain trees on golf courses, parks and gardens.
Everything that comes off the tree gets chipped and carted, and the ground is raked clear before we pull out. None of that chip is wasted either. We sell it back as mulch in loads from three up to twenty cubic metres, delivered, so the timber off one job goes onto somebody else's garden beds.
We start early, and we take emergency call-outs when a tree has already come down across a driveway or through a fence and cannot wait for Monday. Quotes are free and hold for thirty days. Tell us your suburb and what the tree is doing, send a photo if you have one, and we will come out and look at it.
