About This Business
Melbourne's east grows large trees on suburban blocks, and plenty of them sit under council classifications and preservation orders that catch owners out. We have been servicing Melbourne from our yard at Bayswater since 2009, and Yarra Tree Services works metropolitan Melbourne, the Yarra Valley and the Dandenong Ranges as well as the eastern suburbs. The business was built on a family tradition of caring, and that is still the standard we hold the crew to on site.
Whatever the tree, we get it down with a minimum of fuss, and that runs from a straightforward tree removal through to a large one dismantled piece by piece where there is no room to fell it whole. Trees worth keeping get a different answer. We brace weak or split limbs with tree cabling, a system of cables and bracing that stops a limb moving before it fails, and when we are pruning we take out the dead, diseased and damaged wood, which is money spent on the long term health of the tree. We follow a removal with stump grinding, since a cut stump can still throw up new growth, and grinding it out leaves you free to replant or run lawn straight across the top.
Out here the paperwork matters as much as the saw. Councils classify trees and issue tree preservation orders, and taking one out without a permit is an expensive mistake, so we write tree assessments and arborist reports to back a permit application, a pre purchase inspection or a development plan. If you are getting a block ready for a build or an extension, our site clearing comes with the permits and reports sorted before anything starts. Ahead of summer we cut back for fire hazard reduction, looking at the branches overhanging the roof and the debris built up in the gutters, and our arborists will point out the hazardous trees on a property while they are there.
Two small habits tell you more about us than any promise would. Before we start a job that will be felt next door, we drop the neighbours a courtesy note so nobody wakes up to a chipper with no warning. And nothing goes to landfill: the branches run through the chipper and come back as garden mulch, and bigger trees are cut and stacked as firewood. We also keep a 24 hour line open on 1800 292 772, for storm emergencies and for animal rescues. Otherwise we are here Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm and Saturday from 8am to 4pm. Give us a ring or send the online quote request through, and one of our arborists will come out and look at the tree before you commit to a thing.
